Installation and Setup instructions

(with the WSP)
  1. Add the solution WSP to your SharePoint environment e.g. from the command-line, run stsadm -o addsolution -filename <WSP file location>
  2. From your SharePoint Central Admin site, deploy the solution (Central Admin -> Operations -> Solution Management), or via the stsadm command
  3. On the site you wish to add the Like button, go to the root level Site Settings (the Site Collection), and then select the Site Collection Features
  4. Activate the two features - the Like List Template and the Like Button Web Part
  5. Browse to the List you wish to add the Like button to, if its empty, create a dummy item inside the list (via the New button)
  6. View the item just created, so you can add the Web Part the DispForm.aspx - add the following to the web address you're viewing: &PageView=Shared&ToolPaneView=2
  7. Add the Like Button Web Part to the page via the web user interface, save it and if necessary, publish it
  8. In the same site as where the Like button is, create a new List via the Site Settings menu
  9. Base the list on the "Like List" template
  10. Name the list "Like List", there is no need to include the list in the Quick Launch
  11. Test the Like button to ensure when you click it, records are added to the Like List when you click the Like button, and the same record is removed when you "Unlike" something

This fails in SharePPoint 2010 step 10 - I can't add the new list without it erroring out.
